Background
- Started in the late 1960s by Mendel Glick at a previous premises on Kooyong Road, Caulfield.
- The bagel recipe that Glick's is now renowned for was originally developed from a recipe provided by American soldiers who had served in Germany around the time of World War II.
- When the original Caulfield premises became too small, Glick's moved to the Balaclava shop.
- Now most baking occurs at a factory in Carnegie, where about 70,000 bagels are made each week.
